I don’t really have anything new to say about the Festival of Speed, other than that it has to be on every petrolheads bucket list. I do however have some photos to share:

The walk up the hill to the Rally stage was well worth it.

The Kamaz truck was not the only lorry on the hill, this European racing truck came over from Germany with its 4 tonne, 1000+bhp 6 wheel madness.

The AMG GT-R debuted Friday, was at the FOS Saturday.
Teeny tiny sidepods on this Brabham, looks more like an arrow.

Less crashey this year.
The rain made for some muddy cars back in the paddock.
For the first time this year, Goodwood were chasing a select few cars up the hill with this ML63 AMG Russian arm. Look forward to seeing the results.

Good thing Flickr has notes now, not like Kinja.
BTW, really cool shots. Now for musings:
1. That Russian arm is making the far third-person camera view (the default outside chase view in games) possible.
2. Nice to see the Robertson Ford GT1 again.
3. Idea: paint that new Merc in ZAMAC (or as close to polished silver as possible) and call it the SLC AMG Black Series.
4. Oh my loving God, it’s LaSupra! Great to see it with good company. Hopefully Speedhunters has a blurb about the car.
5. On one hand, an Audi RS1 would cannibalize RS3 sales. On the other hand, they can just sell it as an RS Q1 instead.
6. Huh. I actually forgot what that 00's Ferrari F1 car is, the one with the white airbox, I mean.
7. I wonder how that Mercedes racing lorry arrived.

Ah my flickr has pooped itself today so I cant upload a thing which is mildly annoying.
I’d never seen the GT1 Ford before, or any racing Ford GTs for that matter. I know it imploded, but GT1s were very cool.
Im sure I saw the LaSupra on Speedhunters a while back, might be worth a rummage through their archive.
The Ferrari with the white airbox is their 2010 car, the one which nearly won the championship, till Vettel found his feet.
And the Mercedes lorry is towed on a relatively normal race trailer, but sits at the back outside, rather than inside the trailer, at least from what I have seen somewhere on google. However I am unable to find any photos to back up this, so that may be total bullshit :)

I’m very jealous. I love the green on the AMG GT R. The P1 GTR road spec looks sweet in that livery. The Benz SUV with the Russian arm should make for some awesome footage.

Yeah I was really taken aback by the P1 livery, think it looks a little like the F1 logo they use before the start of the race, but in a good way!

Thanks! These were all shot from public areas this year but being in the UK certainly helps with just the sheer number of events we have, and how close everything is.

The scene over there is seems to be a lot more active than where I am. My work schedule doesn’t help that I miss a bunch of stuff. I’m half an hour from Mosport though which is always a good time when I can make it out.

Ha, I guess, and its pre the mega bright LEDs of the current WRC cars, so guess more bulbs is always better.
